Reminders and expiry
Automatic reminders
Section titled “Automatic reminders”When you send a request you choose Automatic reminders: None, Every 2 days, Every 3 days (the default) or Every week.
- Reminders go to signers whose turn it is and who haven’t signed yet. With Sign in order, that’s only the current group.
- The interval counts from when the request was sent or from the last reminder, whichever is later; sending a reminder by hand restarts the clock. A signer is only reminded once they’ve had their invitation for the whole interval, so with Sign in order the next group isn’t reminded right after being invited.
- The service checks for due reminders once an hour, so a reminder can arrive up to an hour after it’s due.
- Automatic reminders are always sent by the service on your behalf (your name, with replies going to you), not from your mailbox. See Emails.
Manual reminders
Section titled “Manual reminders”On the request’s page choose Send reminder. It’s sent right away to every signer whose turn it is and who hasn’t signed, from your mailbox if you’re signed in with Microsoft.
Expiry
Section titled “Expiry”You choose Expires after 7, 14, 30 (default), 60 or 90 days when you send.
- After the expiry date the signing link no longer accepts signatures.
- Within the hour the request’s status changes to Expired and the event is recorded in the activity log. No email is sent when a request expires.
- To try again, send the document as a new request. That uses another signing request from your allowance.
