Creating the first super admin

Super Admins run the platform: they see every organization and user, suspend organizations, set custom plans and verify the audit log. They can’t be created from the app; you create them on the server.

  1. On a machine that can reach the database, with the same environment as the API (in the shell or in apps/api/.env; with NODE_ENV=production the full production configuration is required), run:

    Terminal window
    npm run create-super-admin -w @pdfeditor/api -- admin@example.com "Full Name"
  2. Enter a password when prompted, or set SUPER_ADMIN_PASSWORD in the environment to run it non-interactively. The same password rules apply as for owners: at least 10 characters, and not an obviously predictable one.

  3. Sign in at https://app.teameditsign.com/login with that email and password. You land on Platform.

  • Running the command again for the same email resets the password and re-enables the account.
  • The email can’t be one that already has a password account in an organization; use a different address.
  • The script applies any pending database migrations first.
